Our Family History and Genealogy
Over the years, many of our family have spent considerable time researching, documenting and publishing the ancestry, descendants and history that defines out heritage. That research, recorded or published in different ways is often inaccessible to others and lost due to changes in technology or the passing of the authors. This site is the latest attempt to provide a wider, yet controlled access to the information collected.
Why "Nuts and Twigs?" We did not want to be surname specific as the history covers hundreds of surnames. A single generations can have up to four, and it grows exponentially the further back or forward the tree goes. If you have ever walked in a forest, under tall and mighty trees, without even looking high, what you find first are the roots, nuts and twigs from its long history of growth. So stay tuned as we gather the nuts and twigs from our forest of family trees.
Changes Made and Coming...
The first thing you will notice is there is no more login. The secure login and subscription was originally setup to protect the information contained in the older RootWeb pages. HOWEVER! Now that Ancestry, or whomever owns the Rootsweb pages has once again opened them to the public, we see no reason to protect them. All information pages has now been consolidated to one menu.
Secondly, we are providing links to those now public Rootsweb pages. We have them all downloaded and saved and at some point will complete our restoration and update of those pages. Needless to say, we want to control them in case they go bye bye again.
Lastly, the TNG database and program have been updated. TNG must by all genealogy standards remain private and controlled. TNG has it's own user base and will continue to require login credentials. If you have them before, they remain the same. If you would like access to TNG, execute the process shown on the opening screen.
Lots of work left to do, including getting off of WordPress at some point. BUT, it is a hobby.
